Why is marijuana illegal anyhow?

Long story.

1. William Randolph Hearst and his many manufacturing plants was threatened by hemp production. He lobbied successfully to convince the government with a mud slinging campaign against cannabis.

2. It was a way for the establishment (read as: white man in control) to control the counter culture and minorities on this country. Hip cat poets, artists, blacks and others considered ne'er do wells by the ruling majority had it denied by legal means.
