Getting Fed Up With Facebook

Just got hit with a 30 day ban on Facebook.  In the past 90 days, I have been hit with 3 stretches of Facebook Jail.  The first was a 24 hour ban for describing a person I read about in an article that was a racist, bigoted piece of shit as "white trash".  The second stretch was a 7 day ban for posting a rather racy meme.  The last one was also for a racy meme and it got me 30 days.

One may say I was breaking the rules, and you would be right.  However, a few years ago, many of us found that there was no such rules overseeing private/secret groups.  It allowed us to post whatever we wanted in said groups with no issues. That was true for all of us until recently.  Now all of us are getting 7 and 30 day bans like trick or treaters get candy on Halloween.  If they changed the rules for private groups, they didn't tell us.  When it comes to Terms Of Service, it is not something any of us would read on the reg.  However, it would have been nice to let us know before they started banning us for days, weeks or months at a time.  That is incredibly frustrating.  Fine, whatever...new TOS that we have to follow.  No need for private groups anymore I guess.  Everything is going to be boring now as a result. Fine.  I will tolerate a sanitized Facebook.

HOWEVER...Here is the infuriating aspect of these bans.  None of them were ever reported by anybody.  The group is an echo chamber of like minded degenerates with a very sick sense of humor.  None of us were hateful, racist, bigoted or mean spirited...just warped.  For the past few years we all had a good laugh at many things...many wrong things.  What flagged me and what flagged everybody else is the draconian algorithm that scans everything and drops ban hammers on anything they feel is wrong despite wherever it was posted.  Cool tech bro...but it is being implemented in the wrong way.  For my ban and others that got bans, we got hit with the ban the second we hit the post button.  That means the algorithm knew what I and the others were about to post.  Instead of preventing it from happening and giving a warning that whatever is about to be posted was considered wrong, they insta-ban the offender.  That is ABSOLUTE bullshit.  That type of draconian handling of posts is going to cause a multitude of people to get irate and disgruntled with the platform.  

I beyond pissed off on how they handled this.  I can get over the fact that I will have to somewhat sanitize my posts in the private group but I will go screaming and kicking into the night if Facebook continues with this approach of using an algorithm/AI program to ban people instead of using it to prevent such posts.   

Lastly, to add insult to injury, I and other are getting these bans for posting juvenile, filthy jokes but there are actually harmful and hateful groups openly posting their hateful messages and and doing harm or planning to do harm and yet we see nothing happen to them.They get to harass other and spew hatred with no repercussions, yet we post a dick or fart joke and we are corrupting the "community standards" and get the ban hammer.

My message to Facebook, get your shit together or risk losing many to up-and-coming social sites.
